For the ricotta, I used soaked cashews, onion flakes, garlic salt, lemon juice, garlic cloves and filtered water. See full recipe in stories. Peppers can be roasted in the oven or fried in a pan. โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›

A homemade nut ricotta is simple to make and a much better option than any dairy products such as cheese. One of the biggest myths is that dairy makes bones stronger and that milk does the body good. ๐Ÿฆด Dairy is inflammatory, contains IGF-1 which is linked to cancer, increases bad cholesterol and it is high in sugar.๐Ÿฅ› US consumes the highest amount of dairy and has the most bone fractures than any country. โš ๏ธ

๐ŸŒฑThe best source of calcium are plants such as kale, alfalfa sprouts, Brussel sprouts, beans and seeds.
๐ŸŒฑThe best source of vitamin K are leafy greens.
๐ŸŒฑThe best source of Vitamin D is from the sun (morning or late afternoon).

What’s In My Fridge

I am sharing with you whatโ€™s in my plant-based fridge. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑThese type of reels are some of my popular ones. I also love to see how others organize and store everything. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

I live in Southern California and never really turn the AC on. If I leave produce on the counter, it usually goes bad fast as it is generally warm in my area. I tend to store most items in the fridge so they last longer. I know there is controversy about storing tomatoes, potatoes and citrus fruit in the fridge, but I donโ€™t have much of a choice. ๐ŸŒค๏ธ

I always get the question why I have so many lemons and oranges. I love making fresh orange juice. ๐ŸŠI drink lemon water first thing in the morning and sometimes during the day too. ๐Ÿ‹ Let me know if you would like to learn more about the benefits of lemon water. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ
